Having the ability to stop and reflect on the events in your day is a gift. Doing so doesn’t make you lazy.

You are developing clarity and doing a retrospective of your thoughts, words, and actions.

Leaders who take the time to reflect and even document their daily activities are better leaders.

The ability to reflect helps you develop your empathy and balance your emotions.

This doesn’t make you weak. This makes you effective so you can have the hard conversations necessary for any leadership role.

What’s more, developing your empathy makes you a better, more rational, human. Allowing yourself to be more calm, and focused is a form of discipline.

Discipline is a stoic virtue that is both extremely valuable and priceless. Why not practice it?
