On Creativity and Clarity
Each moment is an opportunity
There are moments when clarity strikes. Where everything that’s been on our mind coalesces into the “a-ha” moment. For many of us, myself included, these moments are rare.
But not super rare and that’s what makes these periods of clear thought valuable. It’s in these moments the potential to do our best living is born.
Seneca said, “Begin at once to live, and count each separate day as a separate life.” What about each moment? What if we looked at each minute as an opportunity to grow and develop?

Maybe starting fresh each moment of each day is unrealistic. But the mindset of improving our awareness of what we are spending our time on is the lesson.
The stoics, like Seneca, understood the true wealth in life was not material or currency. Wealth came from time. What you spend your time doing is where your true happiness comes from.
I’ve learned this over time, especially with creating art. For me, creating an illustration or simple pencil drawing is not only invigorating but fulfilling.
