Accountability. It’s a word many of us aspire to, but far fewer actually practice. Yet, if you aspire to a leadership position, you must, at all times be accountable.

Your bosses hold you accountable (hopefully). Your subordinates definitely hold you accountable. They are watching.

Holding yourself accountable and demonstrating this will lead you to success. When others see you are accountable for your decisions and actions, you gain several key leadership qualities:

  • Trust
  • Respect
  • Followers
  • Appearance of competence

Through accountability, you build your leadership brand which leads to more influence. This not only applies to your professional career but your personal life too.

Don’t be afraid to hold yourself accountable. Lead from the front.
