Importance of Critical Thinking Skills for Leaders

The importance of critical thinking cannot be understated.

For presidents, CEOs, and mid-level managers, critical thinking is an essential skill. We must think about outcomes and possibilities.

Asking AI to create something for us is far too easy. Relying on AI is creating a risk of people losing their critical thinking skills.

As a mid-level manager or PM, you need team members with the ability to problem-solve.

Avoiding Reliance on AI

As a leader, you can serve your employees by fostering critical thinking skills. Do this by:

  1. Providing developmental opportunities.
  2. Identify problems involving emotional intelligence and allow team members to devise solutions.
  3. Build an environment that encourages learning of AI skills such as prompting but is connected to human problem-solving.
  4. Engage your team regularly and seek pain points where you and them can think critically about the problem.

Creating an environment that combines AI use and human critical thinking is essential.
